Partnership projects
We know that real change only comes from the passion and talents of people. That’s why we work with some of the best charity leaders in the UK: heroes engaging in some of the most innovative work to help children and young adults otherwise at risk. We can support and enhance their expertise with our advice and through our Small Grants programme. PiggyBankKids gives grants that can be used for core funds – usually the hardest to fundraise for – leaving skilled voluntary sector leaders extra time to do the hands-on work they most want to do. From mentoring programmes to sports provision, children’s cancer care to school-based projects, we can make a little from you go a very long way for children. We recently brought all our Small Grants recipients together for a training day to help them thrive in tough economic times.
At PiggyBankKids we are passionate about mentoring, and Chance UK is one of our favourite charities transforming vulnerable children’s lives. Chance UK seeks to provide an early intervention by providing targeted solution-focused mentoring for children aged five to eleven, based on their individual needs. Back in 2002 when we started, we published Moving on Up, a collection of well known people writing about the mentors who had most influenced their lives – including teachers. A generous grant from one of our Trustees meant that Moving on Up is now in the library of every state and independent secondary school in the UK. Our books support lots of our charity work. The international Special Olympics movement is dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competition. In 2005 we published Journey to the Sea, a collection of new fiction travel, to support the work of Special Olympics Great Britain.
Here you can see the range of amazing children's charities we’ve been proud to support. With your help, we could do even more.

Demelza House
Demelza-James provides a hospice at home service for children in East Sussex and South West Kent with life-threatening and life-limiting illness and their families. The service complements the care offered at Demelza House, with the Demelza-James specialist paediatric nurses going directly into the family home to provide care, crisis intervention, an on-call service and respite. The service enables the family to live life as a family in their own environment - and coupled with Demelza House's services - greater flexibility in available care provision.
Medical help and expert advice is available in the home, freeing up time for Mum and Dad to revert to their roles of being Mum and Dad again.
When a child reaches the end of its life Demelza-James can offer 24 hour end of life care at home followed by bereavement support to members of the family, as required.

Chance UK
Chance UK provides one-to-one mentoring for children aged 5-11 with behavioural difficulties. Our mentors raise children's self esteem via activities such as games in the park, visiting museums or anything the child may be interested in. Many of the children we work with are on the verge of being excluded from school. Our mentors help them with their specific behavioural difficulties to improve their self confidence, education and home lives.

Shed@thepark
Once upon a time…
....in the leafy town of Chesham…
.....a theatre company seed was planted. People who were passionate about theatre nurtured this special seed and fed it with passion, commitment, time and love. They hoped that one day it would grow into an amazing theatre company that was for everyone, that believed in everyone and wanted to create performance with everyone.
Shed@ThePark rooted itself in Chesham and over the last 3 years that small seed that was planted has grown into a company that runs workshops for over 100 children and young people.

Bolton Lads and Girld Club
“Bolton Lads & Girls Club was established in 1889 and has 120 years experience of helping vulnerable and deprived young people break their circle of disadvantage.
Our mission statement is: “To inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realise their potential and become happy, responsible and caring citizens.” More specifically we aim to help all children and young people, aged 8 to 21, reach their full potential and to succeed in life through a wide range of programmes and opportunities designed by the young people themselves to meet their ever changing individual and collective needs.
In 2002, we opened a unique, purpose built, state of the art youth facility which has been identified as the most successful club of its kind in the country. From this town centre location, 3,500 young people every week are engaged in a range of recreational activities and sport, informal education and learning programmes all "under one roof".
This universal seven day a week operation, our involvement of all sectors of the community and targeting the most vulnerable and needy groups is integral to our success in engaging disadvantaged young people that statutory services traditionally fail to reach.”
